Velvet cars need to stop immediately

Metallic and matte paintwork on vehicles has been something we’ve become accustom to for quite some time, however, newer trends have seen all sorts of materials used for car paintwork. The most questionable, yet eye-catching has to be velvet material vinyl wraps on cars. The tasteless choice of velvet covering the exterior of a car is something that only a small percentage feel is a good idea, however, this idea has been done on some beautiful cars such as Ferraris and Rolls Royces. Car vinyl wraps are usually just a sheet of vinyl that are applied over the paintwork and moulded into place using heat and plastic applicators. More commonly known as car ‘wrapping’, wrapping is seen as a quick and effortless way to change the exterior colour or material of your car in a short period of time. The cost of wrapping is far less than the cost of re-painting a car, and as it’s just a sheet over the exterior, it can always be removed back to the factory paint. While many wraps look good, velvet is certainly not one of them. Here is a collection of images that show exactly why velvet is not the best choice for a car’s exterior wrap.
