Police seize replica supercars in factory in Brazil

1 of 8

Police in Brazil claim to have shut down a factory that was producing fake Ferraris and Lamborghinis. The bizarre story was backed up by images the Brazilian police released that clearly showed parts of cars that appear to resemble Ferraris and Lamborghinis being put together. While the images might be good enough to convince most, the cars are quite clearly counterfeit and knock off goods, being built to be sold onto unknown customers. The factory was in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina and authorities discovered that the makers being the cars were actually father-and-son. The police found 8 supercars in the factory, all of which were in different stages of completion, replicating vehicles from the two Italian brands. When new, and real of course, those supercars would sell for up to $300,000, however, police said these fake replicas were being put on the market for approximately $45,000 – $60,000. Both men were charged on the grounds of intellectual property offences. Here are some images released by the police that show the full extent of the factory and the replica supercars being built.
