Most profitable airline routes worldwide
6. San Francisco to Newark (United Airlines) – $688 million profit
Airline routes can vary in cost due to a number of factors such as distance, airline, time of year, occasions and so on. However, some golden routes also seem to cost around the same expensive price anytime of year. Those routes are the money maker routes for the worlds largest and most popular airlines. The routes we’re referring to are the ones that are profitable and extremely busy all year round, such as New York to London. For example this particular route will earn airlines into the billions of dollars due to its high demand, flight time, type of passengers and major status of the cities involved. Not all airlines will profit from this particular route, however, as airlines need to be very practical with where they fly to and from, in order to maintain costs. For example, it wouldn’t make sense for an airliner based on the other side of the world to try and maintain New York to London as it’s costs would be too high. Bearing this in mind, we look at the most profitable flight routes and what airline is behind the most profit from that route.
