It would appear as the years go on, more and more societies are moving toward a cashless system. But not all countries are moving toward that as fast as one another. For example, there are many huge nations that for whatever reason are still operating on primarily a cash based culture, from paying the bill at a restaurant, to taxi expenses, or simply retail shopping. Regardless of this, most modern countries are well developed to offer cashless systems, for everyone contactless pay, apps like Uber letting you pay via your mobile, and so on. The redundancy for cash is not extreme, but certainly progressing that way. Nevertheless, many people cash will always, to some extent, be a huge part of society. With this information in mind though, here’s a list of some countries that still have the highest amount of banknotes and coins (cash) in circulation per inhabitant in USD at exchange rate.
