5. Details in the steering wheel of the Bentley.
Bentley have officially unveiled the Mulliner Bacalar, a $2 million open-topped car with interior trim that is remarkably made from trees that were cut over 5,000 years ago. If you’re interested in getting your hands on this stunning motor, it’s worth noting that there will only be 12 of these cars made, according to Bentley. The company had initially planned to reveal the Bacalar at the Geneva Motor Show, which was to open Thursday, but unsurprisingly, that event was cancelled due to concerns about the coronavirus. Therefore, similar to other car manufacturer, Bentley simply decided to unveil the car online instead. Questions over it’s name can be explained by the following. The Bacalar is a Barchetta, which basically describes a type of open car with no roof whatsoever. It literally translates to the word “little boat” in Italian. The truth is, there is actually no roof for this car. Not even a removable cloth top of some sort. Of course this means that lucky owners of the Bacalar will need to be extremely vigilant of the predicted weather forecasts before taking their $2million supercar out for a spin. The Bentley will be powered by a 650 horsepower 12-cylinder engine and will be an all-wheel drive car, along with an eight-speed transmission. Finally, the the interior wood trim is made from trees that have been naturally preserved for over 5,000 years in the lakes and rivers of East Anglia in the United Kingdom.
