10 most extreme helipads in the world

We take a look at 10 of the most extreme helipads in the world. A helipad is the landing space only designated for helicopters to land and take off. They are usually visible with a green background and a large ‘H’ in the middle, so pilots can see the landing spot from up in the air. These extreme helipads range from the middle of a major city, to the edge of a cliff and even in the centre of a forest. These helipads require a high level of skill from the pilots to land and take off from, as even the slightest mistake or mis-judgement could lead to disaster. Pilots will also need to take into consideration the elements of the landing. For example, landing at the top of a cliff in extreme weather conditions could mean the wind will prevent a steady, accurate landing in a very tight spot.
