The seven types of people who spread misinformation on COVID

1. Jokers or funny people trying to share misinformation on social media

Many governments have tried their absolute best to crack down people spreading false information or misinformation on COVID-19. While there may be many different types of people spreading false information, theories or rumours, what’s common is all are using channels such as social media to get it done. You’ll probably begin to wonder then why false information gets spread, or what the result of it is. Well, the answer is very simple; it depends. Some misinformation is just spread because of miscommunication and it’s fairly harmless to society anyway. Other times, there could be certain motives behind it, i.e. scammers, or theorists after more of a following, or some people who are simply trying to generate more panic in society for whatever reason. The seven types of people who are most likely to be the source of the misinformation on COVID are listed here. Firstly, you’ll have the jokers, or the funny guys. They are simply sharing false reports on social media, purely to entertain their friends or people they can reach out to. This is usually harmless, but not everyone can identify a joke.
